The rules for using eduGuide

Last updated: 7 May 2026

About this service

eduGuide is a free academic guidance tool for South African matric and tertiary students. It surfaces bursaries, programmes, and application information aggregated from publicly available sources. eduGuide is not affiliated with any university, college, NSFAS, or government department.

Who can use it

Anyone can use eduGuide, but it is designed for students aged 16 and over. Students under 16 should use the service together with a parent or guardian.

Information accuracy

We work hard to keep institution, programme, and bursary information current, but bursary criteria, minimum requirements, and closing dates change without notice. Always confirm details directly on the official institution or bursary provider website before submitting an application. eduGuide results are a starting point, not a substitute for doing your own research.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate subjects and marks. The quality of your matches depends on the accuracy of what you enter.
  • Do not attempt to scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or otherwise disrupt the service.
  • Do not use eduGuide to mislead bursary providers or misrepresent another student's academic profile.

Account and email use

If you provide your email address — to receive bursary deadline reminders, get a reply to feedback, or create an account when that feature launches — you agree that we may contact you only for that specific reason. We will never send unsolicited marketing. You can unsubscribe or request deletion of your email at any time by writing to us at hello@edu-guide.co.za.

No guarantees

Matching with a bursary or programme on eduGuide does not guarantee admission, funding, or any specific outcome. All final decisions rest with the institution or bursary provider. eduGuide provides information and guidance — it does not act as an agent or representative on your behalf.

Limitation of liability

eduGuide is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. To the extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of the service or from reliance on the information displayed, including missed application deadlines or declined bursary applications.

Changes to the service

We may add, modify, or retire features at any time. If a change materially affects how you use eduGuide, we will communicate it on the home page. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from use of the service will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
